In the heart of Nebraska, a young family of four made their dream home a reality. Carrie and Dave Iekel had spent seven years envisioning their home. "It was dreaming; it gave us something to work towards," said Dave.

Based on Timberlyne's Huntington Pre-Design barn kit, their barn home sits beautifully in the Midwest countryside. It boasts an inviting dark exterior that exudes warmth and tradition.

The 8-foot open porch is a picturesque scene with sitting chairs ready to relax and an American flag unfurled gently in the wind. With a building dimension of 32'x48', the house felt spacious yet cozy—a perfect blend of comfort and style adorned with Western decor that reflects their lifestyle.

The building process had been a labor of love that took a year and a few months from breaking ground to unpacking their belongings.

"This is our home, and we got to do it ourselves. I'm not going to pretend that we were pioneers and sawed all the logs ourselves, but modernly, we got about as close as you can to doing that and really investing in our home," said Carrie.

The Iekel family may have started with a vision, but they ended up with a legacy—a place where dreams can continue to grow alongside their family.
